Rage Against The Machine is headliner of SWU

It is the first time the group is present in Brazil and also in South America

Band with one of the most active community of fans, the RATM is presented in SWU headline on October 9. The followers of the South American iconic 90s expecting to see them play live on the mainland since 1992, when the group burst hit “Killing in the Name.”

The RATM broke up in 2000 and surprised the audience when he returned to the stage after seven years in 2007, the Coachella festival in the United States. They were the headliners of the American event, selling out the sale of tickets in record time in the history of this festival.

Formed by Zack de la Rocha, Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk, RATM is one of the most influential bands of the 1990s. The group is known as a political and protest songs, marked by the heavy sound that blends hip-hop, rock, funk, punk and heavy metal.

RATM attitude also extends to his fan base. At the end of 2009, 17 years after its release, the hit “Killing in the Name” was No. 1 in the UK with over 500,000 downloads, thanks to a campaign carried on Facebook for fans of the band to end monopoly of downloads of a TV program in the region. The campaign gave great visibility to the band, being supported by artists like Dave Grohl, The Prodigy and Paul McCartney.

Now at SWU, they promise a presentation that will go down in history.
